Lexmark Lexmark X83 Driver. Lexmark X83 Firmware upgrade instructions: The firmware upgrade included in this packet improves the quality and reliability of your Lexmark X83. In this upgrade, there are improvements to standalone color copy quality, added standalone paper support, and improvements to scanner motor controls. To determine which Firmware upgrade you need, turn off your X83. Now, turn your X83 on and look at the X83 display screen. You will see "X83 by Lexmark V5.XX". If you have V5.74, you will need the "Fw574B.hqx" file. If you have 5.75Z or 5.76C, you will need the "Fw581.hqx" file. Download the appropriate file to your computer. When you're ready to upgrade your X83, follow the instructions below: 1. Make sure a USB cable is connected between the X83 and your Mac/iMac. 2. The X83 should be powered on. 3. Make sure the X83 driver is installed and working properly on your computer prior to upgrading the X83 firmware. To verify this, open the Lexmark Scan and Copy Control Program and try scan to file. This will ensure you have a connection from the host and the Lexmark X83. 4. Double click on the upgrade file you downloaded. 5. The Fw5.7xx will automatically download the firmware to the Lexmark X83 and restart the Mac. The firmware update will now download to your X83. This should only take a few seconds to complete. Once the firmware download has finished, the X83 will power off and on automatically. Please confirm that the new firmware file has been downloaded properly by looking at the display on the X83. It should read X83 by Lexmark 574B if you have downloaded the "Fw574B "file or X83 by Lexmark 5.81 if you have downloaded the "Fw581" file. 6. A .out file may be created on your Mac. This and all other files may be moved to your Trash once the restart of the Mac OS has been completed. Congratulations! You have successfully downloaded the latest X83 Firmware.
